Whole Lotta Love.....
If you ever want a dog...call Amanda and let her pick it out for you, or pick it up for you (they - she and her husband Gregg - pick up strays on their way to and from Anchorage :) ). They give anyone a chance...you can be stinky (they take you to the dog spa and clean you up!), sick (they take you to the vet and make you better) or just plain anxious (they make you comfortable no matter what it takes). In return they get this:
That is a whole lotta happy, content and beautiful dog. It is also a whole lotta work for Amanda and Gregg...not to mention expense. They do it over and over again. They do it just for the animals....they have my humble admiration...and, a whole lotta love.

Wine Tasting and Auction
(Barley watches the fundraising and wine tasting from the comfort of his car)
So, last Saturday the Soldotna Chilly Dogs helped with a fundraiser to help our Hospital Foundation with pet related needs and the other half of the proceeds went to help our friend Judy who started an amazing fund to help folks who can't afford to get their pets spayed or neutered.
Here is the welcoming committee.
I'm not kidding.
Aren't they cute?
And it wouldn't be an animal fundraiser in Alaska if a mama moose and her baby didn't crash the party.
This is our friend Judy.
She has been busy raising money/talking to people/sending out vouchers/getting the word out/and most importantly SPAYING AND NEUTERING!!!
She is my hero.
period
Volunteering got to be too much at the shelters.
So many unwanted pets euthanized.
This is her way of trying to solve this difficult problem.
I can't say enough good things about her and the cause.
Here are a couple of links to stories she has done in the last 6 months in our community.
A local newspaper article.
And another article in a different local paper.
